One key point of inspiration for this collection was the intricate patterns of Fraktur folk art, which originate from the German-speaking communities that settled in Pennsylvania in the 19th century. REDValentino has taken the most iconic symbols of this folk art and given them a fresh update for Fall/Winter ‘17. Hearts, flowers (most notably the iconic tulip) and birds feature heavily in the collection, but always in a sleek, modern manner. Bold color palettes and textures bring this traditional craftsmanship firmly into the 21st century.

Why should you have to retire your favorite patterns and floatiest frocks to the back of your closet once the temperatures drop? You might be surprised to find that a dark color palette and flowers actually make the perfect pairing come winter. Flying Bouquet print features the prettiest posies in gloriously rich tones on blouses and dresses with contrasting pink and green trims. Florals in winter? We think even Miranda would approve.
