British fashion house Daks presented their latest Fall Winter 2017/18 Womenswear collection during the London Fashion Week.
This season, the “Savile Row Woman” takes centre stage for the DAKS Autumn / Winter 2017 collection. She’s sophisticated and elegant with an effortless combination of femininity and androgyny. The collection is created with quintessentially masculine fabrics in a range of classic patterns such as herringbone, Prince of Wales check, pinstripe and houndstooth. Many of these sourced from British suppliers. In collaboration with Fox Brothers, DAKS have created an exclusive “DAKS Club Flannel” in a pinstripe design, synonymous with sartorial British city style. This cloth will make up the focal point of the season together with an exclusive transfigured check made from Shetland wool, a sustainable fibre renowned for its durable quality, developed by Jamieson’s of Shetland. It is through the modification of these fabrics that the femininity of the DAKS woman is expressed. We see the Prince of Wales check in tones of grey, embroidered with gleaming metal details; twill weave with a silver piping that runs through the fabric to illuminate the silhouette as well as an exclusive check created for DAKS by an Italian wool mill embroidered with royal blue stones. And so a world that appears to be masculine becomes soft, fluid and feminine. Winter florals reinstate this idea of femininity throughout the collection. Printed on flannel as well as chiffon, florals are presented in tones of dusty pink or embroidered tone on tone. – from DAKS
