Veronica Etro presented a travel-spirited collection for the Fall Winter 2017 season. “I tried to do something joyful, full of collision and color explosion. It’s a festival of the world, not set really in one place - it is an imagined place.” An intrepid group of adventurous, strong-minded women walked the collection with a nomadic, East Asian spirit that complimented the consistent bohemian aesthetic of Etro.
A giant, vibrant kaleidoscope greeted guests upon their initial entry. The show was featured on a rainbow-edged carpet below arcs exploding with 3,000 bohemian flags confirming the house’s heritage with strong, celebratory command.
The collection was representative of the mountains in Bhutan, the Himalayas. Exotic mixed prints were pieced together in silk. The paisley prints seemed toned down in their manner, whilst equally present in their nature. Central Asian padded jackets and European quilted puffers walked the collection in an emphasis on seasonal outerwear. Brocades and rich, pigmented palettes - Messages reading, The Earth has its music for those who will listen, were written on patches, calculated in placement.
