Swiss watchmaker Corum has reproduced the striking, artistic nude portraits by French photographer Dani Olivier on its iconic Bubble wristwatch in a pair of limited editions that bring photographic art to the wrist.
Inside The Watch: Automatic CO 082 Movement With 42 Hours Power Reserve
Despite its beautiful aesthetics, Corum does not let go of its core value of creating technically excellent timepieces. The Corum Bubble Dani Olivier features a 47mm stainless steel case that has a water resistance of 100 meters. It is powered by an automatic CO 082 movement that offers the hour, minute and seconds functions. Beating at a frequency of 4 Hz, the movement offers precision timekeeping making sure you are always on time. The modified Soprod A10 movement clocks in a power reserve of 42 hours and is clearly visible through the open sapphire crystal case back.
It all started in 2008 when in search of a new artistic direction, Olivier experimented with using light projection on female bodies.
Preferring to work with dancers, his shoots are actually recorded in slow-motion, letting the light patterns to fall as they do. Eschewing photoshop and post-production manipulation, Olivier's shots are a final product purely from what is captured.
Using high-resolution printing, two photographs feature in the timepieces coated in black PVD, re-emphasizing the jet-black backdrop. At 47mm, the Corum Heritage Bubble - Dani Olivier comes in an oversize that fans of the watch manufacture have come to love and embrace.
Available in two limited editions of 88 watches each, the final 88th piece consistent with Corum's recent Bubble offerings, is a one-off unique piece distinguished by a striking red-gold bezel.
