A woman’s tale begins when she gets dressed in the morning. Her wardrobe choices are one of the most significant ways she communicates with the rest of the world.
Since 2011, Miu Miu has explored this point of view, commissioning short films directed by prominent and provocative female figures who define culture today. The driving concept behind the Miu Miu Women’s Tales project is to open up the conversation not only about the role of fashion in contemporary society but also that of physical appearance and femininity more broadly. With that in mind, the women directors of these 15 films also offer intelligent and emancipated insight into their distinctive and inspiring universe: into their own Women's Tales.
To celebrate this body of work to date, Miu Miu has now created an edition of T-shirts commemorating each of these cinematic experiences. Film stills are printed on the front garmentss; credits, all in highly particular, individual typefaces, appear on thereverse.
