We’re going back to the 1920s, via the ‘70s. Elie Saab’s Haute Couture collection was no slavish recreation of an era but the spirit of the 20’s alive and kicking.
Dresses were indecently short and floor sweepingly long. Classic Saab. Exaggerated bow necklines, marabou feathers, vivacious gold and silver sequins flashing bright. Hectic. Jewels and glasses were overloaded, lavish with gold chains, pearls and earrings bouncing. They may have stopped asking who’s wearing what on the red carpet but we can spot an Elie Saab without being told. Excess glamour and good times. A collection for “A woman who loves passionately, lives largely and dresses beautifully.” Well, aren’t we all that woman?
